YOGA FOR DEEP REST + SLEEP COURSE: 4 WEEKS


Suitable for absolute beginners and advanced yogis alike. This course by candlelight takes a holistic approach to rest and sleep, and will provide you with some simple techniques to relax your body and mind so you can drift off with ease. It draws from different floor-based practices and traditions, including Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga (postures for relaxation), Yoga Nidra (guided deep relaxation) and Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is for women and men who are serious about improving their ability to rest and sleep. Mounting scientific evidence** shows that yoga, mindfulness and breath-work can help smooth the jagged spikes of stress, alleviate anxiety and improve your ability to actively relax. Comprising four 90-minute sessions, this course offers you an opportunity to learn how to use the tools of yoga and Traditional Chinese Medicine to regain healthy, restorative and consistent deep rest.

It’s important to develop an awareness of your own pre-bedtime behaviour (a.k.a. “sleep hygiene”), eliminate bad habits, cultivate good ones and create a routine that works for you. This series is designed to contribute to that routine by soothing your senses, calming your nervous system, reducing muscular tension and addressing some potential energetic imbalances before retiring. Therefore, the intention behind the course is for practitioners to either go straight home to bed afterwards, or commit to spending some digital device-free time relaxing before bed.
